2026 Untold Stories of Global
Health Contest
CUGH and Global Health NOW from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health are pleased to announce the 2026 Untold Stories of Global Health Contest. The contest is designed to give a platform to important but underreported global health stories. GHN will select two winning stories to cover; the stories will appear in GHN.

Multimedia Reflection in Global Health Contest 2026
This contest invites students and professionals to submit creative reflections on their global health experiences in education, research, or practice.
Open to: Trainees and professionals from undergraduate to postgraduate levels, especially from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs)
Formats Accepted: Essays, artwork, videos, photographs, and case studies
Submission Deadline: January 1, 2026

Video Competition
CUGH's 13th Annual Global Health Video Competition is now open for entries. Open to individuals worldwide—no membership required.
Share a short (under 5 min) video highlighting a global health challenge or a high-impact solution. Winners will be showcased at our 2026 conference in Washington DC

Support The LLMIC Abstract Presenter Bursary
CUGH Provides 10 Bursaries for free registration, a hotel stay and a travel stipend for LLMIC Abstract Presenters. Donating to this fund will enable us to increase the number of Bursaries. Donations to the Fund are tax-deductible in the US. Donors have the option of having their name included in the conference program. Scholarships will only be available to individuals whose proposals have been accepted.

James G. Hakim Global Health Award
Sponsored by: AFREhealth, CUGH, and the Fogarty International Center (NIH). This award honors the life and legacy of Dr. James Hakim and recognizes emerging global health leaders from Africa.
Eligibility Criteria:

Enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited African university or within five years of earning a terminal degree

Citizen of an African country 
- 
Primary affiliation with an Africa-based institution
